Back from TIFF and Access Canada

‘Back from the Toronto International Film Festival and Access Canada conferences. Eleven intense days of presentations, networking and movies. Some of the movies I saw include The Captive (about Miguel de Cervantes), Primavera (about Vivaldi), Franz (about Franz Kafka), The Choral (about a choral group in Great Britain during WWI) and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which based on audience reaction is sure to be a hit at the box office. I met many terrific people and learned a lot.

One thing I was not aware of is that many countries support their filmmakers with $$$ so they can make their films. This includes Canada and most European countries. This enables filmmakers to produce and co-produce with other countries. The US is all private equity. So the search for investors continues. If you know anyone who would like to invest in a movie musical, SUPERSTAR Sarah Bernhardt, about the world’s first superstar, Sarah Bernhardt (1844-1923), please reach out.
