Target Audience. Target Investor.
When it comes to marketing, the logical question is who is your target audience? At the same time, the answer to this question reflects on who may be your target investor. If a prospective investor finds your film’s topic and issues related to it of interest, you may be in a position to score.
SUPERSTAR Sarah Bernhardt is a musical movie about the world’s first superstar. Here’s my take on who might be interested in investing. If you fall into any of these groups, let me know!
First group. Those who like musicals. And if you like musicals where you can walk away humming most of the melodies, this movie musical is a slam dunk.
Second group. Those interested in female empowerment. Female empowerment is a hot topic. Bernhardt started from humble beginnings in an era when women did not have opportunities to excel and yet, she and became the most famous woman in the world. She is a bonafide role model.
Third group. Those interested in history and period drama. The movie takes place in 1912, when Bernhardt was performing on stage in NYC and when the first full length silent film (in which she starred) was premiering. In addition, Bernhardt performed all over Europe, Russia, Australia, South America, Canada, and had nine tour of the US. The script is in English with a smattering of French, German and Yiddish.
Fourth group. Those interested in a dramedy with humor that crosses cultural barriers. Humor in the script is not based on jokes. It is cross cultural, based on human experience which means there is potential worldwide appeal.
Fifth group. The French. Sarah Bernhardt was not only French but a true ambassador for France.
Sixth group. Jews. Bernhardt was Jewish. Jewish culture has a strong focus on and support for the arts.
